Hostel handler om 2 amerikanske venner der er taget til Europa med rygsæk. De leder efter underholdning, piger og stoffer, alle de ting som man ikke kan finde i USA (?) forklare Roth.
Nogen fortæller dem at hvis de vil møde piger, skal de tage til Slovakiet, der kan de finde de allerbedste vandrehjem, og specielt et der bugner over i tonsvis af smukke piger, - som vil have sex med alle tilrejsende. De 2 venner og nogen af deres Islandske venner tager frejdigt af sted, finder vandrehjemmet og finder ud af at historien passer. Men næste dag, er de kommet i store problemer, og indser at der foregår nogen virkelige gyselige og syge ting på stedet.

vil have det til at lyde som. Men med den slags film kommer vi alle i helvede
og Mr. Roth køre....

Eli fortæller at historien, som han selv har skrevet er baseret på virkelige begivenheder, som han beskriver som noget "sick shit" -- i Øst Europa, hvor han kan få lov til at lave alle de nøgenscener han har lyst til…..
Filmen er inspireret den bølge af Asiatiske gyserfilm, som han så mens turnerede på festivaler med Cabin Fever
Fleiss producere remaket "The
Poseidon Adventure" som instrueres af Wolfgang Petersen for Warner
Bros. Han arbejder i øjeblikket på en prequel
til "The
Texas Chainsaw Massacre" for New Line Cinema.
Roth er mest kendt for "Cabin Fever"
som han også skrev og co-producerede for Lion Gates Film
Eli Roth har desuden fået lidt hjælp af selveste instruktør Quentin Tarantino:
"The coolest f*cking thing was that Tarantino read it [Hostel screenplayet] and loved it so much that he invited me to his house and spent a day doing a dialogue polish with me. I couldn't believe it. He's been incredibly helpful throughout this whole process, helping me with story, character development and coming up with great ideas. He loves the project and has really encouraged me to get back on the floor and make another down-and-dirty ultra-violent horror film."

HOSTEL tells the story of two adventurous American college buddies Paxton and Josh who backpack through Europe eager to make quintessentially hazy travel memories with new friend Oli, an Icelander they've met along the way.
Paxton and Josh are eventually lured by a fellow traveler to what's described as a nirvana for American backpackers - a particular hostel in an out-of-the-way Slovakian town stocked with Eastern European women as desperate as they are gorgeous.
